Sarah Ahlbrecht is a diehard Katie who started out her educational journey with a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems. “I chose St. Kate’s for my undergrad for many reasons; empowerment of women, progressive, inspired atmosphere, and encouragement to question and lead. My undergrad degree was a B.S. in Management Information Systems, and I began working in the I.T. field while going to school in order to really boost my resume. I had the opportunity to work in a number of roles at companies including 3M, BlueCross BlueShield, and Best Buy. As I worked throughout my degree, I needed more flexibility with my time. Weekend college was the perfect solution. I still graduated on time and was able to have a better balance between my work and education.”
After graduation, Sarah continued to develop professionally, and found a love for marketing. “As my career progressed, I landed my current role of Web Marketing Specialist and realized I needed a background and formal education in Marketing. Along with that, I needed more business knowledge to get the full picture of how businesses run and make their decisions. The St. Kate’s MBA program with the Integrated Marketing Communications concentration was the perfect fit for me to excel my career and help me achieve my long-term career goal. The knowledge I am gaining has already proved to be invaluable to me. You learn a lot about yourself first, then how to integrate your strengths with business goals.”
