Professor Moran 101
As an MBA professor teaching Financial Management and Global Economy, Patrick Moran is able to share his deep experience in the financial world with his students. With a B.S. from the United States Military Academy, and an MBA from Stanford University, Patrick has a strong career history in finance and payments. The combination of classroom theory and real-world experience make Professor Moran an invaluable asset to the St. Kate’s MBA program.
Who is he, really?
We asked Professor Moran a series of questions to figure out who he is as a “real human being” outside of the classroom. Here’s what he had to say:
How many cups of coffee do you drink per day?
None, but I drink way too much Diet Pepsi.
What is something – outside of education – that you are extremely passionate about?
Are you a dog or cat person?
What’s your favorite thing to do in the Twin Cities?
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Fun loving, mathematical, sports lover (… and that’s five words)
What’s your favorite quote?
“Choose the harder right over the easier wrong”
Who’s your favorite superhero?
Tell us about a person or situation that has had a significant impact on your life.
One of the economics professors at West Point got me truly interested in economics and finances. We are still friends today!
What energizes you to head to campus each day?
Students who want to continuously improve themselves.
If you could tell your 20-year-old self one thing, what would it be?
Be more patient and listen more.
Above all else, Professor Moran hopes that his students walk away from their MBA with one thing: an interest and confidence in exploring starting their own businesses.
