Professor Grenfell 101
As an adjunct professor teaching Business Strategy, Mark Grenfell combines a professional journey of climbing the corporate ladder alongside his impressive educational background. Mark has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, and an MBA – impressive, we know. On top of that, he has been working for 3M for 30 years, during which time he has held a number of different positions with increased responsibilities. Currently, Mark is Project Manager for 3M’s Advanced Materials Division.
“More than anything else, I hope that the St. Kate’s MBA graduates are able to be truly effective critical thinkers, while also remembering, ‘It’s all about the people.’”
Who is he, really?
We asked Professor Grenfell a series of questions to figure out who he is as a “real human being” outside of the classroom. Here’s what he had to say:
How many cups of coffee do you drink per day?
Are you a dog or cat person? Dog
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Funny, warm, and helpful
What’s your favorite quote?
“Tell someone you love them today, because life is short.
But shout it at them in German, because life is also terrifying and confusing.”
If you could tell your 20-year-old self one thing, what would it be?
Stop worrying about the future because you can’t control it. Just be ready to roll with what life tosses at you. I also need to tell my 57-year-old self this on occasion!
